Hello everyone and welcome to Decoding TV, a podcast about television.

I'm David Chen.

Joining me as usual, it's Patrick Kleppek. Patrick, the summer is more past us than in front of us at this point, I think. How are you feeling about it? Oh, I hate it. I know that some people, you know, summer is the quintessential season for me. Like, I'm a huge swimmer.

It is the season for me. I accept and in my heart, all of its downsides.

I tell, I see you.

I recognize you, summer haters.

I am just not, I am just not with you.

And I was just like growing up, like playing video games to like three in the morning and like sleeping till 1 p.m. because I was grinding out level 99 in Final Fantasy 7. I just, I love summer. And so like for me, it feels like summer is literally about to end because I am going to on a trip to Europe with my family for two weeks at the beginning of August.

And by the time I get back, I mean, days later, my kids start school.

So the temperature will still be warm, but summer in terms of how we often think of it will,

like, literally be kind of ending for me in about a week.

Wow.

Technically speaking.

The waning days. The waning days. Well, speaking of heat, Patrick, today on the podcast, we're going to be covering smoke. The first five episodes have aired on Apple TV Plus. But I am going to acknowledge we're in a bit of a show hole. You know, we're kind of in between major shows. This is what my friend calls at a show hole.
