Hey everybody, Tom Woods here.

We're talking to David Howden today, and we're talking to him about a question that arose

when a listener was in a

debate with a friend and the friend was saying there's no point in giving tax cuts to the wealthy

because they're just going to take their money and put it in the Cayman Islands, whereas if we

put the money in the hands of the middle class or the lower middle class, the working class, or practically anybody, those people go out and spend the money at retail stores. And this is what, this is actually what creates jobs. So it's the lower classes who actually are the job creators. It's not the idle wealthy. So this is the kind of thing in one form or another that we hear quite a bit. And I thought,

let's see what good old Dave Howden has to say about it. Dave is the chairman of the Department of

Business and Economics at the Madrid campus of St. Louis University. He's currently this semester

serving as a visiting professor at Grove City College, which is chair, the economics department

of which is chaired by Jeff Herbiner, our guest from episode 745.
