1:20.9 | And I have to say in my own experience in the very beginning, first of all you don't even know what Satsang is. |
1:29.9 | You just sort of gravitate with people who seem to be interested in some of the same things you are |
1:35.9 | and in this case we're talking about consciousness, spiritual path. |
1:42.9 | So you do gravitate, what do you talk about? Well you talk about books that you've read, you talk about perhaps even the idea of practices and meditation. |
1:54.9 | And in my case in the very beginning I gravitated towards different books that featured the stories of saints and sitas and gurus, |
2:10.9 | particularly back then, Yogananda, autobiography of Yogi which was a very important book for me. |
2:20.9 | And for many many many people of course there's that great movie that's out about Yogananda. |
2:27.9 | And who else for me, Mayor Baba, Shri Ramakrishna. |
2:35.9 | So these were some of the beings that I felt were like part of my Satsang that I was hanging out with. |
2:43.9 | And they were a constant reminder of as what Ramdas mentions. |
2:50.9 | They are a constant reminder of what our journey is about. |
2:56.9 | So that to me is the first step into Satsang. |
3:01.9 | And then the next is as I say you start to meet different people and you share that one common thing, spiritual path and the different ways that we can all approach it, think about it, relate to it. |
3:17.9 | And so the interviewer in this case brought up some of the some of the problems that happen that especially you read about but you know you can experience everyone kind of can experience it for themselves. |
3:32.9 | And that's there's a pressure sometimes in a group to conform to the median to the middle. |
