reactionary nostalgia, which has been one of the central organizing ideas behind the entire conservative movement,

from Bill Buckley defining a conservative as, quote,

someone who stands athwart history yelling, stop, unquote, two thugs like

Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly going on and on. But how much better America was when they

were kids to the again in Make America Great Again. That America was a prosperous, tolerant

utopia back when they were kids, and everything

would have gone on like that forever if woke liberals hadn't ruined everything.

It's an entire political philosophy built on corrupting the sentiment of the Mad Men episode

entitled The Carousel. Here's a clip from that show.
