In December 2012, Sergeant Richard Spurando, with the Arlington Heights Police Department,

a suburb about 25 miles northwest of Chicago, Illinois, was looking through the file of

a case that had gone cold, an unsolved case that had occurred in April of 1991.

59-year-old Loretta Tabeck-Badge had been found dead in her Arlington Heights home, having

been shot four times.

that he and his wife of just a month, 19-year-old Noreen Kumada, had been driving home from
