The Seychelles is undeniably one of the most spectacular destinations on the planet.

When you pair up its incredible fish species with one of the most beautiful and remote

lodges and fly fishing, it's world class.

This April I met up with Devon Fundermarvey from Alphonse fishing company.

With nine years managerial experience at Alphonse, he has played an important

role in the Atoll's development. Devon heads up 26 professional guides, captains, and deckhands, and runs a fleet of 48 vessels designed to work in the most

logistically challenging environments. He was the perfect person to speak with about the

operation. So I was born in a little mining town, a coal mining town, Whitbank, It's southeast of Janusburg in South Africa.

It's got very little to do with fishing, a lot to do with coal mining, but obviously

it's got a couple of streams and rivers and dams around it.

So that's home. It's still home at the moment. We're looking at possibly moving to other areas in the country,
