Summary

Today is one of those days where I need to teach us a very simple, but important lesson. Somewhere along the way, we were taught that we have 2 types of jails and prisons: For-profit ones and government-owned jails and prisons.

But this is ALL WRONG.

In fact, an upcoming study will tell us that government prisons are actually creating exponentially more profit for corporations and communities than for-profit prisons.

The business model may be slightly different, but the primary profit motive is the same for both institutions. And we need to drastically adjust our language around for-profit prisons, which are indeed gross, because ALL prisons are enriching white people and white power across the country.
