Optimist by Matt Ridley. As someone with conservative and libertarian, libertarian leaning

as myself I of course have argued the positive effects of capitalism and free markets and free

trade. But too often I think we would get caught up in whatever the issue of the day is without

actively recognizing how much miraculous good has already been done. Sure it's worth fighting for

a few points on a tax rate but one billions are being brought out of extreme poverty. It's
