Today I want to talk to you about the power that comes from speed of implementation. So what do I mean by speed of implementation? I mean, not taking forever to move forward on something, taking action quickly. Now this is super important topic and actually an important secret to success. And if you're analytical and you find yourself getting locked up or regularly slowed down too much, it's even more important for you.

Now I want to be clear about something first. I'm all about due diligence, making sure you check everything out and protect yourself by doing your homework before you make any sort of investment or big move.

So when I talk about speed of implementation, don't think I'm talking about taking shortcuts or skipping important steps. Speed of implementation is about putting things in motion quickly so that you can create a competitive leg up or a first mover advantage as it were.

Now speed of implementation involves identifying opportunities and then quickly taking action on those opportunities. Let me give you an example.

We found out about a fantastic deal in Dallas a couple of years ago and we had literally one day to make a decision and put up earnest money and we did it.

Now that deals worth approximately 10 million more than we pay. Now of course there were other nuances to this, but did we have to know everybody involved in the deal for months and months when we first found out about it or have spent months evaluating it?

No, we didn't. We wouldn't have gotten it. Now this is an example of speed of implementation and we've got several examples of other deals that we purchased like this because we moved quickly. That's how we were able to get them.

Now speed of implementation can also help your company or your team achieve their goals by quickly responding to changes in the economy, changes in the local and national politics, changes in consumer sentiment, even changes like COVID which happened to us.

Now remember when COVID first hit and we were scheduled to have 800 people attend a live boot camp in Orlando and we were kind of freaking out and didn't know what we were going to do and we had to move very quickly to bring our boot camps online.

I literally shot the video for our virtual boot camp in my backyard with my cell phone and you know we had the website up in a couple of days. That's an example of speed of implementation.

Now as a leader you know that being indecisive can cost you time and money. You know your ability to quickly sift through all the available data and make a decision is critical but speed of implementation isn't just about decisions and direction, it's about doing and actually getting things done.

It's getting down to work immediately once the decision has been made. In order not to drop balls while you're implementing new ideas or solving problems, I've come up with a method that really helps get things done.

Now you've probably heard me say I'm a fire ready ain't kind of guy and if you like that at all you should pay attention but if you find yourself suffering from analysis paralysis then definitely listen up.

So the first step in becoming expert at speed of implementation is to know your goal. You have to know what the end target is so that you know where to aim.

If you're running off at full speed that doesn't win races if you're all over the place. Having a specific outcome helps you narrow your choices and helps eliminate distractions.
