Welcome to the tailored life podcast, the one and only fitness and nutrition podcast that takes it way beyond just training and nutrition.

0:14.3

I'm your host, Cody McBroom, and today we have our monthly research review, except today we did it a little bit differently.

0:20.1

We decided to mix it up and we did a

0:21.6

Q&A. So what we did is we put some feelers out on social media and our email list and stuff like that.

0:26.4

And we gathered together the five most common questions we were seeing being sent in about training,

0:31.9

nutrition, body comp, stuff like that. And we decided to answer those with research. So when

0:36.7

somebody asked the question, we went out

0:38.6

and found what research was on that topic. More specifically, our CSO, Dr. Brandon Roberts, did that part.

0:45.2

And then we recorded a podcast on it. He broke down the science and then I gave my explanation

0:48.5

from my experience in coaching and he usually rebuttled, either agreed or debated what I was

0:53.6

talking about in regards

0:54.7

to my experience with this. So we took the most common questions. Like I said, there's five of

0:58.5

them. We talked about body recomposition, so burning fat and building muscle at the same time.

1:03.7

When you should do cardio, should you do cardio at the beginning of your training session or

1:07.2

after your training session, if at all? We talked about the recovery diet versus a reverse

1:12.4

diet. We also talked about intensity versus volume, which one is more important when trying to

1:17.0

maintain muscle during a fat loss phase or a cut. And then last but not least, we talked about

1:21.6

the compression theory, right? So compression sleeves and stuff like that. Is it even useful?

1:26.5

Is it just a waste of money so

1:27.7

we dove into these five topics we took all the research we could find on it and then we just

1:31.0

kind of spit back and forth on these topics so i think you guys are going to get a lot out of

1:34.5

this i really enjoyed the style of conversation when it comes to a research review because it was
