colleague David Tainter. Hey Josh. Hey, we got a pretty cool episode. Very cool episode today. We're gonna talk to

Preet Barara and he has a new book out. I mean I soon I think everybody knows who

Preet is he's is, he's become a fixture of television commentary over

the last couple years.

He also has his podcast and now he has a new book out called

doing justice a prosecutor's thoughts on crime punishment and the rule of law you

know at at at this point it's easy to for people to forget that before pre it was a

big media star he was the US attorney in the in the southern district of New York.

Yeah, yeah.

And before that, he worked on Capitol Hill

as a, I believe a judiciary committee staff were on the Senate side.

Right, worked for Schumer, right?

Yeah, worked for Schumer, I think, back in the Bush years.

I don't, I think he was U.S US attorney in Manhattan for basically the whole Obama period

and then obviously he sort of Trump was sort of like I guess at first like I'll keep

him on and then he fired him.

And there's still some questions about that and it's good that

well we have a lot of questions for Ped and it's good because he's right

here that's right Josh first it's great to be here and in the fine tradition of

sucking up to your host I want to say that it's a it's a particular pleasure of

mine because I voraciously read way back
