All right, welcome to the righteous Remnant Podcast. This week we're going to get back

into some theology. We're going to look at Jesus' sermon on the Mount. I'm going to do a series

on the sermon on the Mount. Now, there's something that we should understand about the

sermon on the Mount. This is really Jesus' summary of Torah. Okay, so Torah is the first five books

of the Bible, right? Jesus' exos-lividicus, numbers, and deuteronomy. And it's considered like the

center, the heart of the Jewish Bible. Okay, so if you were a Jew living in Jesus' time, right,

you had the the tenac, which was the Old Testament, right? And that was like your Bible. But the heart

of it was the Torah. All right, and that was the first five books of the Bible. And specifically,

most specifically, it's the law of Moses. Okay, it's the 613 commands that God gave to Moses

that were for the nation of Israel that they were to obey. All right. And really what the

sermon on the Mount is, Jesus' summarizing the Torah. Okay, and the heart there is he's giving

the spirit of the law. All right, he's giving the spirit of the law because this is the truth

for everyone. You know, if you're a Christian, what you're constantly fighting against in the

churches is religious legalism, right? Is dead tradition. And it's the same way, you know,

throughout history, for those who have wanted to obey God and follow God, you know, you have to

fight against the lawless ones, the people who don't care about the law and don't care about following

God. But you also have to fight against the overly religious ones who are interpreting the

letter of the law rather than the spirit of the law. And this is why it's very important to

understand the heart of God's law, why he gives his commands, you know, it helps us and follow them

better. And this is really Jesus, you know, giving the heart of what the Torah is. And I think if we
