Summer vacation is here, at least for the Bears, not so much about the Bears beatwriters

who will be trying to figure out, and reporters are trying to figure out angles over the next

six weeks with no access or very limited.

J.J. Stankovitz and Chris Bowden joining you as John Fox decided to cancel the final

minicam practice. A lot of us thought, hey, they need the work. He's not going to cancel it this year,

but he wound up being a nice guy. So let's start knocking off some of the overall

impressions that we have, especially feeding off our Monday podcast,

or Tuesday morning podcast when we were previewing this mini camp.

Some of the things that stood out to you, JJ.

Well, I think the, you know, if you start with the quarterbacks, just generally speaking,

Mitch Trubisky looked pretty good, you know, not getting into a whole lot of details

of what we saw, but it did, he did look like a guy who had the, let me put it this way,

he displayed the traits that the Bears saw out of him at North Carolina. Those didn't go away

by him just putting out of Bears jersey.

So that's at least a positive sign in step one right now and in his long growth process.

You know, the defense probably was a little bit ahead of the offense. That's what John Fox said.

Usually is the case right around now at this time of the year. But that being said,

we did see some positive signs from the offense. I know we're going to get into a little bit

later just with some specific players there. As far as Rubisky's concerned, I guess the

impression I come out of it with is the line between the two isn't stark right now. You don't see a night and day difference.
