0:39.9	Miss Susan Burton. Susan is the founder of a new way of life reentry project, an organisation
0:46.7	in South Los Angeles that provides housing, employment assistance, legal services and leadership
0:54.1	development to formerly incarcerated women.
0:57.2	Drawing from her own personal experiences, Susan created the facility to assist women
1:03.0	and offer support and resources so that they would be able to thrive as they reveal their
1:08.5	lives outside of prison. Since its founding in 1998, a new way of life has provided housing and hope to more than 1,200
1:17.7	formerly incarcerated women and helped reunite over 400 women with their children.
1:24.0	While the organisation's reentry legal clinic has provided pro bono legal services to more than
1:29.9	3,000 community members with conviction histories. Becoming Miss Burton, which highlights Susan's
1:36.7	remarkable life story and her organisation was released in 2017. In this episode, we will be discussing women's incarceration, the direct
