Hi guys welcome back to but what's next with me Michelle Reed I am so excited for this

0:16.6

episode because it's actually my first official real solo episode I did want

0:21.8

as kind of like an intro to this podcast early on but I wanted to do a solo

0:26.0

podcast because obviously if you guys have listened to the intro and you've listened for a

0:30.3

little bit I really wanted this podcast to be pretty interview-based. I personally

0:35.4

really love listening to interview podcasts with guests and just really getting different

0:40.0

perspectives. Every now and then I do think it's nice to just throw in something that's solo from me personally from my own experiences and today's episode is one that I am really excited about because it's all about how I moved to New York City, why I wanted to live there, and kind of going through my college experience, why I chose to go to college in New York City, how I moved there.

1:00.0

I also wanted to talk a lot about financials. I really break down kind of how expensive it is for people who actually want to move there because I know that a lot of people listening probably have a dream to live in New York City and I know with

1:14.3

coronavirus right now New York City has been really hard hit and I am actually

1:19.5

home in Texas right now and so there's some parts of it that I really miss and I

1:23.9

thought that that was the perfect time to do this episode because I only really

1:27.5

have a lot of things to say because I do miss it so much and it's kind of like

1:31.3

whenever you actually live somewhere there's so many

1:33.8

negatives but then when you're pulled away from it you only really remember the good things and so I am

1:38.2

going to go through pros and cons if anyone is thinking of moving there.

1:41.7

Obviously I know a lot of people probably aren't actually moving right now.

1:45.8

I know a lot of people are in a really weird stage with finding a job and kind of going

1:50.2

into post-grad life in a new city, but if you are looking to move to New York City in the future,

1:55.5

I think this is a good podcast to listen to and just one that I get a ton, a ton of questions on and I really

2:00.6

wanted to break it down.

2:01.6

So for a little bit of background, I was actually born in Chicago,

2:05.0

but I moved to Texas when I was literally like one years old,
