Summary

Ep. 48: 4 Steps to Doing Hard Things! OCD Your Anxiety Toolkit Kimberley Quinlan Welcome back! This week's episode is a celebration of last weeks guest interview with Dennis A. Aguilar. Last weeks episode was the first of the series called, We Can Do Hard Things Series.   In this series, I will interview people who have fought through the thickness of mental health struggles and have relentlessly worked on themselves.  These will be inspiring and motivating stories that will help you see that you are not alone in your recovery process. One question I have been getting from listeners, in response to last weeks podcast, was the question, "But, How do I do hard things when doing even the smallest things seem so hard for me?" This podcast will outline the FOUR steps I use to doing the hard things.  These steps are mostly tools that will help you understand and appreciate your personal journey. I often gently say to myself, "It is a beautiful day to do hard things!" and I really believe this to be a core part of my own mental health toolkit. I hope you enjoy this episode of Your Anxiety Toolkit. Welcome to Your Anxiety Toolkit.

0:12.3

I'm your host, Kimberly Quinlan.

0:14.5

This podcast is fueled by three main goals.

0:17.4

The first goal is to provide you with some extra tools to help you manage your anxiety.

0:23.0

Second goal, to inspire you. Anxiety doesn't get to decide how you live your life. And number three,

0:29.7

and I leave the best for last, is to provide you with one big, fat virtual hug, because experiencing

0:37.1

anxiety ain't easy.

0:38.3

If that sounds good to you, let's go.

0:45.3

Well, welcome back. I am so thrilled again to have you with me.

0:51.3

So last week we had Dennis A. Aguilar on the show and he was talking

0:58.2

about his road to recovery and it was such an inspiring story. And that will be the beginning of the

1:05.6

series called We Can Do Hard Things. So I'll have a series of people come in over the summer and share their

1:11.7

stories with you and hopefully it brings you some motivation and some inspiration and a nice

1:18.1

big hug to let you know that you're absolutely not alone in your struggles and that there are

1:23.5

many people out there who, you know, are really struggling to you and that you're absolutely, you're not the only one here in this big, big struggle.

1:31.7

So I hope that that's helpful for you.

1:35.1

And I just, again, found that story to be so incredibly inspiring.

1:40.1

And I know I can't say enough amazing things about Dennis.

1:43.7

Now, one of the biggest pieces of feedback I get around this idea or this message of we can do

1:51.1

hard things is that people will often comment, you know, but how can I do hard things when

1:59.2

I can't even do the small things, the things that everybody else does
