Captive Audience: A Real American Horror Story (Hulu) is a three-episode series following the story of the Stayner family, a family of five children from Merced, California. On December 4, 1972, seven-year-old Stayner was abducted by child molester Kenneth Parnell. At age 14 he managed to escape with another of Parnell's victims, Timothy White. Steven’s older brother Cary was convicted of the murders of four women between February and July 1999
near Yosemite National Park. Stayner was sentenced to death for the four murders, and is still on death row at San Quentin Penitentiary in California.
Kate interviews Ashley Stayner, Steven’s daughter who lost her father in a motorcycle accident when she was 4 years old. She also speaks with April Rocha who had an eerie experience with Cary Stayner with her friend in 1999, months before he was arrested.
Jen Sullivan from Fat Mascara podcast reviews Not So Pretty on HBO Max, an investigation into the trillion-dollar cosmetics, beauty, and personal care industry, raising awareness about the dangers in everyday makeup, hair, skin-care and nail products.
