Welcome back to another episode of Reality Life of KKC.

You've got to check out 60 minutes from this past Sunday, because correspondent John Worthyme reported on a new look into the decades-old question that's

dogged many readers of Anne Frank's diary, which is who betrayed the Frank family and let a search team to their secret annex hidden behind a bookcase.

So he spoke with Vince Pancoke, a retired FBI agent, and beginning in 2016, Vince led a team of expert investigators that were equipped with modern crime-solving techniques to try to crack this case.

So among other investigative strategies, they used artificial intelligence to sift through dreams and dreams of data and original documents.

They spent hours looking for clues in the concealed rooms behind an Amsterdam warehouse where the Frank family and four other Jews lived hidden away for more than two years.

And they're taking you right back to the Anne Frank house and even into the back portion of the property and to see how it's kind of an enclosed property with buildings around it.

And you think to yourself, at certain periods of time, you could have heard a pin drop in that area.

So in analyzing the person that could have tipped off the police to that location, they investigators adapted a standard law enforcement axiom in assessing suspects and looked for three things.

Knowledge, motive, opportunity, and the team wondered, did the suspected betrayer know the location of the secret annex?

And then the team considered the motive was this person anti-Semitic, did they do it for money and asked for opportunity to examine whether the suspect was an Amsterdam at the time of that raid in August of 1944.

Or might have any there been any opportunity to betray the hiding place.

So after going through all this evidence, they as a team came to the conclusion that the alleged betrayer was Arnold Van den Berg.

And they discovered that he was a prominent Jewish businessman in Amsterdam with a wife and kids.

And then he lived in an basically an open life in the middle of Nazi occupied Holland at a time when really Jews were being deported to concentration camps.

So the question is, why did he have that level of protection unless he must have had some leverage with the Nazis.
