I thought I'd start this new series where we explore a bit of our pain, a bit of our childhood trauma, so to speak.

0:08.7

But then do something beautiful and turn it into a learning experience where we can then become more positive beings and then obviously have better Islamic parenting for our kids.

0:19.5

Wouldn't that be great? Because so many of us are

0:22.0

caring so much. So in this podcast, it's the beginning of a small mini-series that's going to be

0:26.5

all about, you know, the difficult feelings that we have inside and that we might have suffered

0:30.4

from our parents and then turning that into a better way of life for ourselves and our families

experienced right up to this moment and significantly how you've perceived everything that you

1:43.1

have experienced is bound together, attached to your

1:46.2

identity, and coded in your brain circuitry. Our stories are powerful sisters. They define who we are

1:55.9

and the way we conduct ourselves. They color the lens through which we view the world. And unconsciously,

2:03.6

we can continue well into adulthood letting others fill the pages while we sit idly by. Or we can take

2:12.4

ownership of our stories and challenges that have been written by others without our permission, just as you

2:18.8

might take a red pen and correct errors in a manuscript to refine and improve this story,

2:23.7

you can bring your own story to light and make the necessary corrections in your mind
