A podcast series exploring the $1.6 trillion student loan debt crisis and the impact it's

having on real people. In this episode, we explore the burden that college debt has put on people's

lives and expose the predatory nature of the student loan industry. You just heard part of a

heartbreaking story from Terry, a 47-year-old woman who has been dealing with the weight of student

loans for over 24 years. To say her life has been altered and delayed due to her student loans

is an understatement. Here's more of our conversation.

So let's start here. Take me back to the moment when you took out student loans. What was going on

school full-time. So they offered me the student loans. She said that the only way I would be

able to stay in college. And since I had no money, I was like, okay, when she was telling me about

the student loans, it made it sound like it was very simple. You know, you don't have to pay it back
