Summary

Alabama sparked outrage following testimony that implicated basketball star Brandon Miller in a murder investigation. Detectives say that Miller’s former teammate, Darius Miles, texted the sophomore, asking him to meet him to retrieve a gun that Miles left in Miller’s vehicle. 0:45.8	This story has been in the news since mid-January when a young woman was murdered in Tuscaloosa,
0:55.0	Alabama. Alabama basketball player at that time was known to be involved. Darius Miles, a 21-year-old
1:05.6	player on the Alabama basketball team. We came to find out sometime in January that he had
1:14.4	handed the shooter a gun and that the shooter then shot the woman and shot at her boyfriend.
1:23.4	So, Darius Miles was immediately kicked off the Alabama basketball team. He was arrested.
1:30.3	It turned out, I believe, the other guy's name was Michael Davis. This was a friend of his from
1:39.6	high school, I believe, or friend of his from back home. Darius Miles is from DC and the young man
1:47.8	Davis, I believe, is from Maryland. So, Miles and this guy have a childhood friendship. This kid
1:58.0	comes up to Tuscaloosa whether it's to visit or maybe he was staying up there. I don't know,
2:03.8	but his buddy's playing at Alabama, his boy from home, the Davis character is coming up there
2:12.6	to visit. They have a dispute in a parking lot and at that time all we're told is that Darius
2:22.8	Miles gave his gun to the Davis guy who then shot into the car killing a woman, Jamia Harris,
2:31.9	I believe, was her name and shooting at I think she had a boyfriend there whose last name I
2:39.6	believe was, oh man, I don't, Johnson, I believe. And so, that's what we heard in January.
2:48.9	This week we learned through I think a grand jury hearing that Alabama's best basketball player,
2:59.0	future NBA lottery pick, five star basketball recruit from Tennessee, the Nashville area,
3:08.1	he played at Kane Ridge High School here in the Nashville area from Antioch, Tennessee.
