In 1974, six members of the DeFeo family were found murdered in their home by Ronald DeFeo Jr., the eldest son. A year later, the Lutz family moved into the same house but fled just 28 days later, claiming that they were terrorized by a supernatural presence. The Lutz family reported a range of bizarre occurrences, including strange odors, unexplained noises, and ghostly apparitions. Some of the most chilling accounts involve the presence of an evil entity with glowing red eyes, which allegedly terrorized the family. While the Amityville hauntings remain a subject of intense debate among skeptics and believers, they have become a cultural phenomenon, inspiring numerous books, films, and documentaries over the years.
