I'm sorry my voice is still not fully recovered, but good enough to be understood anyway.

We're talking today to Dr. Lance Dutus, author most recently of the book The Sober Truth, debunking the bad science behind 12-step programs and the

rehab industry. He is an iconoclast in this way, because of course we all know the pedestal

on which AA and so-called rehab are placed in our society. So I thought, well, my audience is iconoclastic. Let's talk to Dr. Dodus.

Dr. Lance Dotus is a training and supervising analyst emeritus with the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and

Institute. He recently retired as the Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

He's also previously been director of the Substance Abuse Treatment Unit of Harvard's McLean Hospital, director of the

Alcoholism Treatment Unit at Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, which is now part of Mass General,

and director of the Boston Center for Problem Gambling. Dr. Dodus is the author of other books as well,
