Winter storms have been sweeping across the country for the last week or so,

but humans aren't the only critters feeling Jack Frost nipping at their toes.

In the Kansas town of Norton, two bobcats found themselves stuck at the top of a telephone pole

after an ice storm froze them in place.

Local residents called the power company to see what could be done about the cat sickles, and it turned out that the right man was on

the job. A Cowell's Weekend Review listener sent us this story, and he explained that the lineman

sent up to rescue the cats is a friend of his. He's also a hunter, trapper, and quote,

Those trapping skills came in handy for this particular problem. Dominic Urban told local media that when he arrived at the scene and climbed up to the bobcats, he realized that he was dealing

with a mother and a cub. The mother was frozen to the top of the pole, so he had to make a snare

out of a piece of

pipe and some rope to hold her down while he beat the ice loose. That allowed him to lower the cat

down, and he did the same with the kitten. He said the mother ran off as soon as she hit the ground,

and the kitten ran off in the same direction. It's unclear why they decided to climb to the top

Back in 2021, a bobcat was stuck on a telephone pole for two days in New Mexico. The power company
