The current culture has more reverence for feelings than beliefs. Social media trained many of us to feel that the police were randomly killing black men across the country. Statistics and facts did not and do not support that feeling. We ignored the facts. We demonized and defunded law enforcement. Social media drives our overemphasis on feelings and our hostility toward religious beliefs. Our society was more unified when we judged beliefs and were less concerned with protecting feelings.
