Hello and welcome to Raising Good Humans.

I'm Dr. Eliza Pressman and today we are talking about COVID-19 from the perspective of a

0:17.0

psychologist an immunologist and a pediatrician. Basically, I really want to address this, but I also recognize

0:26.6

that there's such an oversaturation in the media and it's causing such a frenzy

0:31.5

that I certainly don't want anyone who's over consuming to add to their

0:36.1

list and in that case I would say start by turning this off and come on back and join us next week. In the meantime, I just wanted to go over a few things

0:47.6

because I know that there have been a lot of questions out there. So this is a strange time and keep in mind that a podcast or at least this

0:56.6

podcast is recorded a few days before the episode comes out and because the science of

this new coronavirus pandemic is changing by the day,

1:09.6

some of the information may be outdated by the time you guys hear this from the

1:13.8

perspective of the immunologist and the pediatrician. So always keep track of

1:19.2

what's going on. I would not again over-saturate yourself limit the amount of time you spend

1:24.8

reading about this because there's so much conflicted information and

1:28.9

conflicting information and opinions so pick a couple of really strong scientifically accurate

1:36.9

resources and that's it. I highly recommend the Johns Hopkins University of Medicine

1:44.2

Coronovirus Resource Center that has lots of great accurate up-to-date

1:49.9

information. In the meantime, I want everybody to give themselves a break if they're

1:57.2

feeling anxious. You know, it's very hard not to feel anxious when things are ambiguous and this is an ambiguous time.

2:08.8

There's vague information. There's unknowns. Things change every day and it's really this is unprecedented

2:16.3

So give yourself a break if you are freaking out at the same time help normalize that with your kids as well.

2:24.4

So you don't want to, if you feel super calm but you notice that your kids are anxious,
