0:05.8	I'm good, thanks for having me.
0:07.4	I wanted to have you on today because, well, first off for my audience's sake, they should know that I was just on your show recently,
0:14.4	and I hope people go check that out. But obviously we were talking a lot about Israel, Palestine,
0:19.5	and I know that not too many years ago, you actually spent some time in Palestine and I wanted to kind of
0:26.4	humanize the experience and allow my audience to understand what it's like and why you're so passionate about this topic. So first off can you tell me when you
0:34.7	went, where you went, who with, etc?
0:37.3	Yeah. So I was there four years ago. I was there October of 2019, so right before the pandemic hit.
0:46.0	I, what had happened was I had done some shows at the time there was the presidential,
0:52.0	the 2020 presidential election
0:53.7	coming up and I was covering quite a bit of it and I was a supporter at the time of
0:59.5	Tulsi Gabbard and there was a vote in Congress about BDS.
1:05.0	And this is one of those things where, you know, I hadn't studied the Israel-Palestinian conflict much.
1:11.0	I knew it existed, of course, growing up the United United States you hear about it, you hear that there's, you know, you just hear about it somewhat in the news and you just know that there's a big conflict going over there and kind of many of us are told it's a holy war, you know, we're just kind of told the basics and that's it.
1:26.8	When the BDS vote came up, I had to do a little bit more research into what was this vote,
1:31.5	why was this controversial because it was starting to make.
1:35.0	There was a lot of commotion about it online in social media.
1:39.4	People very upset with the vote saying how could all these people in Congress vote to basically make
1:45.2	BDS illegal or to condemn BDS as as Congress and many people were really
1:51.6	upset with Tulsi Gabbard for that vote.
1:53.6	So I looked into it, looked into the movement a little bit, the boycott, divest, and sanction.
1:59.4	So the movement is to boycott, divest and sanction Israel in order to pressure them into ending the apartheid.
