investigative journalist Lera McKee. Lira was a brave and tenacious journalist who had dedicated

Alice Ross is sat in a busy restaurant in Washington, D.C.

To any casual observer, she's there drinking her coffee, reading in New York Times,

except she's not.

She's straining her ears to hear what's being said a few tables over.

She's trying desperately not to look. Alice is in the middle of an undercover investigation

that will take her and her colleagues to three different countries.

We were left with no other choice, really, to go undercover.

It was quite exciting stuff.

That's Alice Ross and Lawrence Carter, both reporters with Greenpeace's journalism unit, unearthed.

Our story today doesn't start in D.C.

Well, at least not for Alice and Lawrence.

They're part of a team of journalists are unearthed, a journalistic team within Greenpeace, UK.

See, back in 2015, the environmental organisation decided if no one else was going to spend the time and money investigating environmental issues, then they would.

And so a team was set up. And for transparency, I should say I was one of those journalists. I worked there for a couple of years.

But last year, Alice and Lawrence realised there was one topic that they simply couldn't escape.

Brexit.
