Hey everyone, welcome to Houndations. I'm your host Tony Peterson and today's

episode is all about water introduction with your dog. So often the idea for some of these podcasts

comes from my real life experience and I had one hell of a time with my current puppy

trying to get her to really love the water.

And it made me realize that a lot of people struggle with this

and it's something that we often kind of take for granted with

dogs is like they're just gonna jump in the water they're gonna swim they're gonna

know how to do it but it doesn't always work that way and there is a process to this

stuff and that's what I'm going to talk about right now.

Do you ever wonder if everyone you know has a phobia?

Maybe the people we meet who claim they don't just haven't figured out what it is that strikes an irrational fear into them.

The thing about phobias is that they are mostly irrational.

So they seem kind of funny or stupid to folks who aren't grit by paralyzing fear over certain things.

For yours truly, it's spiders.

Now I'm six too, and I go to the gym a lot.

I don't say that like I'm trying to push my onlyfans on you or something,

probably because that would be far less lucrative for a fellow with my looks

than writing squirrel hunting articles. I say it because by most accounts,

spiders are not a big threat to me. I don't have an irrational fear of snakes or bears or a whole lot of stuff,

but spiders trigger something in me that just isn't fun.

I hate them.

In fact, I'd much rather speak in front of a huge crowd, which is a fear that a lot of folks

...
