We'll talk about the labor fight playing out in Washington. Teachers are on strike in Minneapolis,

while new data paints a sobering picture of pandemic learning laws. And an NFL-wide receiver

gets a full-year ban for sports betting. Well, I know who I'm dropping from my fantasy football team this year.

But first, let's talk about a major labor dispute happening here in the U.S. Uber and Lyft are

pushing back against renewed efforts by drivers to unionize. The Pro Act currently stalled in the Senate

would reclassify some gig workers as employees, a crucial distinction for those drivers' rights.

Not surprisingly, the ride-sharing giants don't want that to happen. So Ravi, unpack this for us. What's going on with this union dispute with Uber and Lyft? Right. And part of what we're doing in this episode is kind of catching up on certain domestic stories that we haven't had a chance to cover in part because there's so much focus understandably on Ukraine.

And so obviously we'll keep coming back to Ukraine. It's super important. But this story is one

that flew under the radar and one that I really want to point our audience to because it has

huge implications on the future of the way that we live as a country right now. Everybody depends,

for the most part, on gig workers in some way, like either for delivery services,

from getting from point A to point B. And as you described, you have this new industry

lobbying group called Flex, which is an interesting name. And this is their mission. It's to represent
