Today I signed legislation repealing the tampon tax in Michigan.

This bipartisan tax cut will help reduce the economic burden of the cost of menstrual products,

especially for lower-income Michiganders.

Saving people with a period from paying taxes on up to $4,800 in spending over the course of their lifetime.

That's 17,000 tampons or sanitary napkins over 456 periods.

Advocates and legislators on both sides of the aisle have been fighting for this change for a long time.

day. And with the midterm elections looming in a threat of a major victory for Republicans

because of people like that.

The Democrats have really been putting the hammer down on all of us.
