Hey everyone, welcome to Houndations. I'm your host Tony Peterson,

0:06.7

and this first episode is all about all relationship with dogs and how that came to be. Look, I'm of the opinion that we all want a better relationship with our dogs, but we might not know how to get there.

You know, that's kind of the gist of this whole podcast concept, honestly, but it has to start somewhere,

0:30.7

and I don't think there's a better place to begin than trying to understand just how our

1:32.0

We tend to develop worlds that fit mostly with what we can know or what

1:38.0

we have been told from a young age. We like answers. We like working with parameters that make sense to us.

1:45.0

Our brains are good at imagining distances we can walk,

1:49.0

but not so great at imagining distances that stretch way beyond the limits of an evening stroll.

1:55.9

Take a light year, for example.

1:57.8

This phrase gets thrown around a lot by space geeks, like me, and normal normal folks alike but what does it mean? Well in short in a

2:06.8

vacuum light travels 186,000 miles every second over the course of 365 days that distance equals roughly 6 trillion miles.
