I'm Calum report and this is Deep Questions, the show where I answer queries for my readers about

0:18.2

work, technology, and the deep life.

0:31.0

So the exciting news kicking off today's episode of the podcast is that we have new questions. I sent out a survey to my email list last week soliciting new questions for the show and got back a lot of really good queries.

0:39.0

This is the first time we have updated the questions since July if you can believe it. In July I sent out the

0:46.3

last survey link to my email list asking for questions. I got over 700 questions back then

0:52.0

and they were so good that I had been trying to get through

0:56.1

them all before I solicited new queries. But there was just too many of them and it was taking

1:02.0

too long and I think at this point

1:04.6

it's becoming increasingly strange for me to be tackling questions such as hey cow what's

1:09.1

your advice for a deep 4th of July it's just not timely anymore. So I solicit new questions, we got a great new batch,

1:15.8

they're really smart. They also react to some degree to the stuff we've been talking about all

1:20.3

summer, so I think that really also adds to their quality so I am

1:23.3

excited for that if you want to contribute questions of course sign up for my

1:26.9

mailing list at cal Newport.com that is where I send out these surveys I

1:31.7

am not going to wait so long to do it next time because I do like the

1:34.7

questions being timely. So within six weeks or so I'll probably solicit more. So sign up for that

1:38.8

mailing list if you haven't already done so. So we have a really good show today. We're going to

1:44.6

tackle these brand new questions. I'll do a backstage pass segment so you can

1:48.5

get a peek into my own struggles and attempts to live a deeper life. We also will have, I think this is also exciting.

1:55.8

Our very first paid sponsor of the Deep Questions Podcast.

2:00.2

So we'll be getting to that later as well.

2:02.3

Before we start the show, though, let's do our review of the week.
