That means we have another great show planned for you today Royce White, Steve Kim. Jason Brown, you guys remember here from last chance you. He's going to be here and prime time.

Nine and nine. Alex Stadd, always on the grind. He's going to be here. We're going to, as I said in the cold open, we're going to have a little bit of a slow burn.

And then I'm going to completely catch fire when I bring Steve Kim on to talk about Shadden Sharp and his comments about Brett Farff.

But I'm going to begin today's show with a conversation with Royce White as it relates to Brett Farff and this incident in Mississippi or this welfare scandal in Mississippi is because when I looked into this story and read about this story, Royce White immediately came to my mind because Royce loves to talk about the unipart.

And I'm reading the story about, and if you guys haven't heard, there's now there's new information about a text message exchange between Brett Farff and government officials and a woman that works for a nonprofit and Brett Farff seemingly trying to get the state of Mississippi to funnel $5 million to Southern Miss his school, his alma mater to Southern Miss to build a volleyball facility where Brett Farff's

daughter at that time, I believe in 2018, was on the volleyball team. It is an incredibly bad look for Brett Farff. It appears that he knew what he was doing was wrong. There's text messages where he says, hey, hopefully no one or asking if anyone will find out where the money came from and who wrote the check to me and blah, blah.

So he appears to know that he's doing something wrong. And now from this investigation that the FBI is involved in, and the former governor Phil Bryant involved in this investigation, it appears they misappropriated up to $77 million or welfare funds to little pet projects around the state.

And 5 million of that I believe was targeted towards a volleyball facility for Southern Miss. It's a bad look for all involved parties. I believe there's a woman last night, I think her name's Nancy knew that has already played guilty.

And there's some kind of civil case and that's where these text messages have come out that implicate Brett Farff. We've already known the previous story about them funneling money to Brett Farff for speaking engagements that he did not do. And then he had to refund that money. And they've now charged him interest on the money. And it was maybe it was $600,000, $500,000.

But they're saying there's an addition or I'm sorry, I think it was 1.1 million. I can't remember the exact total, but there's $228,000 in interest that they're looking for from Brett Farff that he is yet to pay.

But again, I had a whole different take than just focusing in on Brett Farff. It's a bad look for Brett Farff. Trust me. You were involved, you made all the money that he made $130,000, $140 million in the NFL. Probably the same amount of money in endorsements from being one of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL.

And you want a volleyball facility for your daughter and Southern Miss and your helping people are involved in any way with a plot or a scam to funnel tax dollars that are intended for welfare recipients to Southern Miss for a volleyball facility. It's a bad look for Brett Farff. No way around it. It is not good.

It's a worse look though in my view for politicians and this is what made me think of Royce White. Royce talks about a uniparty. Other people talk about it, but Royce was the first one to put it on my radar that basically the Democrats and Republicans are in on things together.

They all want the status quo. And so when I'm reading this story, those are my initial thoughts. It's like, oh, Republicans, because Phil Bryant, the governor at that time, is a Republican.

Republicans pretend that they can't stand the welfare system and that the welfare system should be uprooted and removed. But do they really? And do they not?

Because I'm just when I'm reading this story, I'm like, oh, I think this is commonplace. They put all this pork in all of these bills so that they can then take the extra money and spend it. However they want to spend it on whatever little projects they have.

And so here in Mississippi, someone has been caught with their pants down. The Mississippi today is on to the scandal and has pointed it out. It seems like we're so politically divided right now.
