Hello and welcome to this, the Talking Dogs podcast. I'm Graham Hall. I've been working with dogs and they're lovely people too for well over 10 years now. You might know me as the dog father.

Perhaps you caught me on television's dogs behaving very badly.

The TV show clearly makes people realise that they don't have to suffer in silence,

that there is a way to deal with whatever behavioural issue their own dogs have got

because afterwards I get so many requests for advice and now I can

bring you the answers directly on this podcast.

together with your dog you'll both be able to live as happy and stress-free as life as is

possible, which at the end of the day is what it's all about isn't it now last

week we started our basic recall training things like the use of clear commands and a

long training lead so if you haven't already do go back and listen to that one now if

you're already up to speed or it's some advanced

training tips that you're after, you're in the right place. Today I want to talk in a

bit more detail about some of those distractions that make your otherwise

obedient dog go on a bit doolay, you know deft to your commands as some people

might say. So let's start with Phil who's been really sensible in pre-empting a potential recall roadblock.

Hello Graham. My family and I were the owner of a 10-week-old bitch Bassett Fove de Bretény, not a common dog in Britain,

and she ticks every box for us. She's already training really well in the house,

sitting, come in, recall, all that sort of thing. But she's a centhound, and I want to preempt any

wondering if possible. And what I'd like to really get to grips with is recall training.
