flight directors like Gene Krants and Mission Control's namesake, Christopher C. Kraft, NASA has

selected seven new flight directors to add to the rare and historic position that leads human spaceflight

operations. These folks are taking on the very real and very serious responsibility of making

critical decisions during a spaceflight, with all the flight controllers and especially the astronauts

leaning on their expertise and demeanor to make the tough calls. It takes a great amount of skill,
