The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission voted unanimously last week to pursue a land swap that would give the acreage to SpaceX in exchange for 477 acres adjacent to Laguna Adiscosa National Wildlife Refuge. Texas Parks and Wildlife says this is one of the most

biologically diverse regions in North America and provides habitat for endangered

species and migratory birds. The 43 state park acres, on the other hand, are surrounded by private properties or existing SpaceX facilities and do not include any waterfront access.

Still, as you might expect, not all Texans are pleased about the idea of giving state public land to the world's richest man.
