Summary

The Daily Wire documentary “What Is a Woman?” has been a smashing success, championed by fans and subscribers who flock to the site for its conservative commentary. DW’s latest feature film, “Terror on the Prairie,” strays far from the company’s base and more closely resembles another woke feminist Netflix project. Jason attended the world premiere of the film and argues this departure is another example of those who’d rather have your vote than reflect your values. The Western stars Gina Carano, the former “Mandalorian” actress canceled by Disney after sharing social media posts comparing Republicans to persecuted Jews. It's the former MMA fighter's first film since leaving Hollywood, but Jason argues that she isn’t looking to portray a character that upholds the values of the Right; rather, she just wants to get “uncanceled.” If you are looking for conservatives to fight your battles in a secular society where the Left dictates the rules of engagement, you will only leave feeling defeated. The Daily Wire’s film division offered up hope to millions of Americans seeking an alternative to Hollywood, only, in the end, to disappoint.   Today's Sponsor: Switch today with Patriot Mobile! 0:38.0

Awesome, awesome show playing for you today. Steve Kim, the Korean Coachell will be here, Delano Squires, smartest man on the show. He'll be here.

0:48.0

But before I get to Steve and Delano, I'm going to unpack an unscripted mono and I just want to put out a warning to Steve and Delano and you guys watching to listen to your home.

1:07.0

This may take more time than I anticipated for me to unpack this because the more and more I thought about this topic that I'm going to unpack this Firestarter in because I'm doing it in an unscripted fashion.

1:23.0

I've got a lot of times I write out my mono. It's the column I use and I use that as the foundation for my thoughts and so I know how much time I'm going to spend with it.

1:34.0

And sometimes I want to go unscripted because I just need a little bit more flexibility in wiggle room and I don't want to put any parameters on what I say. And this conversation today, I'm hoping I'm going to unpack in a timely fashion.

1:56.0

I'm hoping that I can show some discipline and understand that brevity is the soul of wit and being concise. But I think I got a lot to say about this.

2:09.0

And I think it's going to take a little time and I got to add a little context around what I'm going to talk about today and some of it will be light, some of it will be serious, but it will all revolve around and we'll start the fire right now.

2:25.0

It will all revolve around values versus votes and it will revolve around my experience last night with going to see Tara on the prairie for those of you that do not know that's the daily wires latest movie.

2:46.0

And not a documentary, it's a movie, Tara on the Prairie. It's starring Gina Carano, the Disney actress who was canceled and landed at the daily wire and is restarting her career at the daily wire.

3:09.0

And I think the former MMA fighter mixed martial artists, I think ended up losing the Chris cyborg and walked away from that and then launched an acting career.

3:21.0

And having a little success with Disney and I think with Star Trek or Star Wars type characters and then set a few things that didn't fit the Hollywood narrative. And kind of it actually elevated her profile because again, not to be dismissive, but you know Gina Carano is not Meryl Streep.

3:50.0

She's a former athlete, former mixed martial artist who's dabbling and acting and is starting to build and acting career. So she's not Meryl Streep, you know, she's not some super duper thespian.

4:06.0

She's not Margot Robbie, she's not some jaw dropping breathtaking 105 pound supermodel. You know, she's Gina Carano, a attractive woman, attractive former athlete who's, you know, with some sort of Disney character and this whole controversy that she got in about being canceled or whatever.

4:31.0

And she's kind of heightened her career. And so she's the big star of the daily wires, new movie, Tara on the Prairie. And they built a lot of their brand in terms of going in this movie direction about working with Gina.

4:46.0

And so last night they debuted the movie, Tara on the Prairie. And as I'm prone to view, I consider myself one of the best, unrecognized movie critics in the country.

5:06.0

I think that probably if there's, if I wasn't a college athlete, if I wasn't a sports writer, I was put on this earth to be a movie critic. Television show critic. I think my analysis of movies and TV shows is as good as anybody's in the country.

5:25.0

And so I go last night, they have their debut, their premiere here in Nashville. And man, is it a first class event? I was dressed kind of casually. I wore the same thing that I had on yesterday's show, kind of a UPS brown book.

5:48.0

But and I didn't do any of the red carpet stuff and you know, all that Hollywood stuff that I left behind when I left LA, I wasn't interested in and really didn't carry those kind of expectations.

6:00.0

And so when I showed up to their premiere last night at the AMC dining theater in Franklin, Tennessee, which is 20, 30 minutes outside of Nashville.

6:13.0

So when I showed up, I was like, oh my god, everybody's dressed like they're going to the Oscars. And I mean, the women were dressed spectacularly and beautifully. And men were in, you know, tuxes and suits.
