It's always great to catch up with my old friend John Favreau, now of Podsave America

fame, but my great collaborator during the Barack Obama years.

We sat down at South by Southwest in front of an audience to talk about the state of

the progressive movement, media, and where the Podsave America franchise might go next.

Well, first of all, John Favreau, it's always good to be with you and hear it at South

by Southwest.

I should explain because we do have a live audience here that John Love It had been

scheduled for quite a while.

I am steeped in everything, John Love It, because I like to prepare for these things.

I got up in the middle of the night as men of a certain age do.

And when I thought I'd just check my phone when I got back into bed and I got the word

that John had fallen ill, had to go to the hospital.

We're confident he's going to be okay.

But so I'm really grateful to my friend John Favreau for pitching here.

I do have questions as I told him about what it's like to be a short gay Jewish math nerd

at Syasit High School in Long Island that probably don't apply anymore.

I mean, I spent enough time with him.

I could tell you all the answers.

Tell you all the jokes.
