The Suu-the-Suta opens with the Buddha's very powerful declaration that the four Satipitanas are the direct

path of the purification of beings for the surmounting of sorrow and lamentation, for the disappearance

of Duka and discontent, for the attainment of the true way for the realization of Nibana.

This is a very direct and unambiguous statement about where this path of practice leads.

He then goes on to give a concise definition of the four mindful abidings, namely mindfully
