Hello and welcome to episode 205 of what most people think. And it feels like a lot has

happened within a week. I mean, what interest rates have gone up, inflation just fucked

again. But more importantly, I went to the cricket on Tuesday. I was actually at the ground. And

I would say, I mean, it was, it was a privilege to be there. It wasn't a privilege to lose. But

being at the ground, it got so tense at one point that I had to switch to a lower strength

lager. I was, I was on the 5%. And then I thought, no, you got to think here, no, you got to think

game management. And so I just dropped it down a level to a 4%. And then I'm not ashamed to admit,

I was on lemonade for the final hour because it was, I didn't want to miss anything. And joining

me once again and very well can return to the podcast is Simon Evans. Simon, are you, I think

people might just presume you're a cricket man. I don't even know whether you've got any time

for cricket at all. Well, I've got time for it in principle. I prefer it probably more in theory

than in practice. I don't go and see the matches live. I have been invited a couple of times.

Funny enough, I was at the oval on the day the queen died. South Africa play. And it was

pouring with rain. And it turned out the rain had been commissioned, obviously, in honour of

the queen's passing. And that was all very sombre. But I remember thinking in a way, I almost felt

like a, like, I'd been given a pass. Oh, there was my, my agent, and a couple of other of his

acts, you know, and it was a sort of, I think it was a sort of nice gesture on his part, you know,

to bring in some of his acts, some of his, his lads, you know, up to the cricket. But the truth is,

I don't really follow it very closely. And I always feel I'm slightly sort of exposed, you know,

to ask a foolish question or missing the significance of some event or whatever, you know,

it feels to me one of those games where there's an awful lot of backstory, you know, you can't really

just enjoy the act per se, you know what I mean. Yeah, I would say it's almost all backstory.
