0:23.0

I am joined by the lovely Charlotte Dow. You may know her as Charlotte 8 Pie from the internet. Charlotte, how are you?

0:29.5

I am very well. Thank you. Thank you for having me on this magical podcast. I mean literally magical. It's magical. It really is. It's magical because I somehow lasted many years without reading Harry Potter.

0:44.0

I seriously don't know how you got your life without this, like especially running in our nerdy circle of friends.

0:50.5

Yeah, and that's the fun thing is that our whole little YouTube crew is obsessed with Harry Potter. And I think that a lot of them will be featured on the podcast. I think that's the plan.

1:00.5

But I wanted to have you as an early guest because A, you love Harry Potter a lot. B, I love you a lot. And C, you got a podcasting experience. So it's a whole big three world win of fun.

1:12.5

This is true. These are all true things. Yes. So you know how the format of this is going to go the listeners know how the whole format is going to go. So let's get right into it.

1:21.5

Chapter eight was the last thing we discussed, which was called the potions master. Now we've gone into chapter nine, the midnight duel.

1:28.5

Spooky.

1:29.5

So basically I know. And I've been told before reading this, I was told that this was not included in the movie. And I just realized that I don't remember the second half of the movie very well.

1:40.5

It has also been like a really long time since I've read it. I mean, I reread a lot of it to prepare for this podcast.

1:48.5

Good. I'm very glad because I don't think I think I read it. I was reading it like alongside my dad, which meant he was reading most of it to me.

1:56.5

Okay. When I was like eight. So yeah, it's been, it's been a, it's been a time. It's been quite a time. And yeah, I think I saw the movie whenever it like first came to DVD.

2:08.5

I don't know if the movie was bad or if I just don't remember it well, but I feel like a lot of things happened in the end of the book that I was like, wait, that didn't happen.

2:15.5

But I've been confirmed from friends that have read the book that a the first movie is actually.

2:20.5

Yes, I can.

2:21.5

And B, it was directed by a guy named Christopher Columbus, which just makes it great that anyone with that name is just a horrible human.

2:29.5

He was like the only, he's like, okay, as I'm sure he's okay as a person, but like he ruined that and he ruined rent.

2:40.5

Like he directed the rent movie.

2:42.5

Oh, he did that to you. I've heard that.

2:44.5

That makes absolutely no sense because his main directing credits are for like family films. It makes absolutely no sense.

2:52.5

And I think he was like the only American to direct it as well, which you need to have like a bit of a British sensibility.
