chilling in my room and I am specifically so grateful that you guys stuck around

for this episode because this is an episode that I have talked about wanting to record for a very long time now

for reference on my YouTube channel if you guys don't know I'm assuming most people are from

YouTube but I have a YouTube channel it it's just at Michelle Reed. I posted a

vlog while I was applying for jobs and I really encouraged my followers to

actually try to negotiate their first salaries. And I got a lot of questions on this video of how to actually

negotiate, how to do it in a polite way, how to actually get what you want, can I even

negotiate my first salary? Just all these questions around negotiations and I

realize that people don't really talk about this very often. I think that money is a

very taboo topic in general but specifically asking for a raise or the salary that you want.

It can be a topic that's really hard to decipher because no one really talks about it.

But when I mentioned it in this video I really

thought to myself you know if I ever have a podcast this would be a great

podcast episode to do specifically with my professor who I learned from. So in this

video I talked about how I was taking a class on

negotiating and it wasn't just about salaries it was negotiations and

decision-making just kind of in your career in general so whether that be for like a business setting if you're

trying to get certain gains for a company, maybe for your personal sense, maybe

you're trying to get certain benefits at your job. It was a ton of different things,

but it was such an insightful and practical class.
