Summary

On this week's show, which you can now access free of charge, James covered several interesting, unique, and useful topics... which I guarantee you won't hear anywhere else.   For example...   *He shares his idea of the absolute best place to meet women... and how to avoid feeling embarrassed if she says no to your invitation.   *He discusses the 2 reasons traditional jobs are a scam... why he tries to avoid working in the workplace... and the ways you can avoid having a regular ho-hum job...   *And he explains why there has been such a dramatic change in the way we interact with total strangers... how that impacts the way we sell our goods... and how to use this change to your benefit...   Altucher has an interesting take on this subject and you won't want to miss it!   Then James brings on his special guest...   James' good friend Gary Vaynerchuk, author of a New York Times best-selling book: Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook.   ------------What do YOU think of the show? This is James Alderture. Welcome to the James Alderture show. I want to give, since this is my second episode, I want to give a little guidelines how to use these episodes. I want you to make the most use of them.

0:22.5

I'm not giving financial advice here. I'm not giving stock tips. I don't think people really listen that much to stock tips. You know, whether they're good or bad, if I tell you to go buy Disney, you'll buy it.

0:34.5

And then if it goes down a little bit, you might sell it and you might think James is wrong. And then it goes up again. You might buy it. Everyone uses financial advice differently. And I don't think I'm better or worse at it than anyone else.

0:46.5

That said, I do want to help people out in this world because it's a pretty scary world out there for a lot of reasons. The entire world is turning upside down.

0:59.5

And I mean, probably the scariest news is that something we all know, which is that work is a scam.

1:07.5

And you know, first, there's kind of the obvious reason why work is a scam. Like, when you get a job, you're getting paid less than the value you bring to the company.

1:17.5

And that's sort of obvious because otherwise the company would go out of business. If they paid you the same amount that they made, then from your services, then the company would have no profits.

1:27.5

And everybody would go out of business and you'd be out of a job. So that's one reason why work is a scam and why things are scary.

1:34.5

But the other important thing is you're going to get fired. There is a really good chance you're going to get fired or people close to you are going to get fired, which is just a scary.

1:45.5

Because when my family members or my neighbors get fired, it's depressing to me and scary to me. And it makes me think, oh my gosh, am I safe?

1:54.5

And for 100 years or so, we were safe. We were in this kind of what I call this philosophy of corporatism, which said, if you graduated college, got a job at a low level and then rose up for 40 years and got a retirement, you were pretty safe.

2:10.5

You could get married, you could cheat on your wife or husband or whatever you were going to do and then you retired, you got a gold watch and eventually you would die and your children and grandchildren would do the same thing as you.

2:23.5

But now that's not true. Now corporatism is over since 2008. Companies decided they were going to just basically fire all their employees and they did.

2:34.5

Well, you might say, you know, unemployment went up to 10%, but now it's come down to 7%. I have news for you that 7% or 8% whatever it is is both largely.

2:47.5

In part because many of those employees that have been gotten back into the workforce are temporary employees. Why do I know this? I'm on the board of directors of a staffing company.

2:59.5

So since 2009, you know, CRRS, the company that I'm on the board of has gone from 69 million in revenues to almost a billion in revenues.

3:10.5

I'm not saying this to brag about them. They may or may not be a good company. I'm not recommending or disrecommending, but I am saying that the staffing and the temp business has gone through the roof and is continuing to go through the roof.

3:26.5

Kelly services is the number two employer in the United States. So basically people have gone from their secure middle management or manufacturing jobs to being temp employees.

3:39.5

So what happens when the entire middle sector of a culture disappears? Essentially what we have is a world of haves and have nots.

3:49.5

And that's a scary world to live in. I mean, I was reading the other day, even Jay Leno, who, you know, does the Jay Leno show, he's always where he's got like, he's got like 80 Rolls Royces in his garage or Porsches or whatever he's got.

4:02.5

Even he's worried every day, he's going to go broke. So it's a kind of an instinctive worry that even guys like that are constantly anxious about their jobs and then they'll never be able to go to work again.

4:14.5

So it's even worse now that the reality is actually happening. You know, and there's other bad things about working at a job.
