Peter Overzette and Patrick Laird this week. And then also a very unexpected

surprise. We knew we were going to do a book club for radical markets, a book that I've been

wanting to talk about on the podcast for a while. And we tweeted it out. And one Mr. Glenn Well said,

hey, you guys are doing this book club. I would love to talk about the book with you. Glenn,

Hey, yeah, we really appreciate it.

When did the book initially come out and maybe set the table for people of, you know,

kind of some of the overall maybe elevator pitch for it

and what the kind of reaction has been since it was released.

Well, so I'm an economist, and I work to the University of Chicago and then at Microsoft.

And a lot of my work was pretty academic.

But when, you know, things in global politics really started getting kind of wacky with populism and so forth in 2016, I was encouraged by a lot of people that I needed to put some of the ideas that I'd been thinking about together and try to turn them into some sort of coherent philosophy.

And that was the genesis of the book. We started around 2016, came out in May of 2018.
