Summary

This week on the Detroit Lions Podcast: Quick Takes, Chris and Jeff slide back into Barry White mode and take another look at possible replacement Offensive Coordinator Adam Gase.  We also make the cast to trim Cooter early, and talk about the Lions playoff chances as well as where we want them to land in the division.  No real college action this weekend, so we take a week off from the draft talk. After that smooth jazz inspired intro we get right into it with a discussion about the case to trim Cooter prior to the end of the season.  What does it mean, and what could it hurt?  We also discuss how it’s worked for Cleveland. Detroit Lions Podcast Moves A Coordinator Up The List After last week’s discussion about Offensive Coordinators, Jeff Risdon has made some changes to his evaluation of Adam Gase. He makes the case for why Gas should be moving up the charts of possible replacements for Jim Bob Cooter. There are some good takes in here that you don’t want to miss. Then we look ahead to the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals game. This is one that the Lions should walk away with pretty easily, if Matthew Stafford can play. Look for heads to roll if they don’t and Jim Bob Cooter is likely at the top of the list of those in jeopardy. After that we take a broader look at the division and the Lions playoff chances. When you look at the remaining schedules, it’s still a real possibility that they make it, but they definitely have to play their best football against Minnesota.  We also discuss whether we want the Lions to finish ahead of the pack in the division or not… Chris and The Riz, together again on the Detroit Lions Podcast… It’s a weekly thing now… Let us know what you think about the show by commenting in the podcast thread in the subreddit, or by leaving us a voice mail message via Skype at: Detroit Lions Podcast  Your input will help make the show better, and if you leave us a message on Skype, you just might be featured in an upcoming Detroit Lions Podcast!  You can also give us a call at (929) 33-Lions. Hey, hi-dy-ho, Lions fans. How you doing? This is episode 189 of the Detroit Lions podcast. With me is my good friend and co-hosts the Riz for QuickTakes. How you doing, brother? I am doing great. It is wonderful to be with you on a lovely Friday afternoon. I love these little Friday sojourns that we have. The hair of yours is just, I mean, if it was like half a decade ago, I'd say it's on fleak, buddy. There you go. It's quite to me.

I was going to say that's how that happened.

But, you know, Kenny, Kenny does the best job. So if you're in West Michigan, look up my guy, Kenny Wells. All right. But he'll also talk to your bears that you're off. So that's a definite downside. Yeah, I'm a candidate for Jell Patrol today. But whatever. Had to show my face of work. You know, sometimes you've got to go in. All right, we've got a good show today. We're going to talk about offensive line, or offensive coordinator candidates for the lion. So we're going to take a look also at this game ahead against the cards and maybe a little bit of talk about where we want to end up and where we might end up in the draft. So got a lot of good topics here for our quick takes episode. Riz, you ready to go, my man? Let's do it.

All right. You know, we like to do it a little smoother and easier on Friday. So hopefully you guys are still enjoying it.

Got to talk about the first thing first. Who brings us the show? It's our friends at Fanatics, right? And they're such great guys. They want you to support them, but they don't want you to support them by going right to their website. Do they, right? No, they want to give us a chunk of that sale. They don't want to just keep all that profit for themselves. They think that's obscene.
