On this edition of the Under Center podcast, Dave Wonstead joins the show,

fresh off the golf course in Florida. The former Bears head coach tells us about the

recent conversation he had with new Bears defensive

coordinator Chuck Pagano. Pagano and Wonstead go way back to their days at the University of

Miami. Plus, Wani explains to us how he'd handle the Cody Parky situation since he had a very

similar experience with Jim Harbaugh when he was coaching the Bears. That more with Dave

snowing and raining and so we get a little cranky around here. You're down there golfing and

having fun, so it's different for you. And I got two daughters and six grandkids in Chicago,

so I hear it every day.

So I know exactly what's going on up there.

But, no, it's a nice time of year, just kind of catching our breath a little bit,

watching some of these draft stuff and trying to get a feel for what teams, you know, watching some of these draft stuff and trying to get a feel for, you know,

who, what teams, you know, actually are, you know, kind of putting out there what they need

and trying to cipher through what's real and what's fake news at this point.

Coach, we know you go way back with defensive coordinator, the new defensive coordinator,

Chuck Pagano, to your days at USC and the U, came right in and said, you know what, this could be the best

defense in history. How do you expect him to fit in with the defense and then tweak it?

Well, good question. I talked with Chuck about a week ago, and, you know, he's, obviously, him

and Banjo have worked together, so he understands the scheme.

And I think that's the foundation of this thing.

And the second thing that he talked about was having him and your coaches that are going to be working with him, have them adjust to what the terminology
