0:28.0	President Abraham Lincoln and his wife Mary Todd
0:31.0	had arrived at the Ford's Theater in Washington DC.
0:35.6	That night hundreds of people filled a theater to watch a special comedy called Our American
0:41.4	Cousin.
0:42.4	For hours, laughter filled the room,
0:45.0	as everyone was blissfully unaware of the tragedy that lingered ahead.
0:50.0	Towards the end of that night,
0:52.0	a man named John Wilkes Booth entered the theater with a gun in hand and an overwhelming determination to murder America's president.
1:02.0	Soon enough, the sound of gunfire interrupted the beautiful evening.
1:06.0	And when the smoke cleared,
1:08.0	President Lincoln was slumped in his chair,
1:11.0	bleeding from his head wound. But you probably already know the story of
1:15.8	Lincoln's assassination. After all, we learn about it in school growing up. So the
1:21.4	story we have for you today is not about Abraham Lincoln. It's about
1:26.2	his good friends, a couple named Clara Harris and Henry Rathbone.
