Welcome to the Widowed Mom podcast, episode 163, controlling the controllables.

0:06.7

It's easy to feel out of control after your spouse dies. And the reason we feel out of control

0:12.4

isn't actually because we have less control than we did before our spouse died. It's because we're

0:18.9

spending so much energy focused on what we can't control

0:22.9

that we block ourselves from seeing what we can. And the truth is, we don't have to control

0:30.1

everything to feel in control of our lives. We just have to know the difference between what's

0:37.2

1:22.2

summer going? Hopefully, when you listen to this, I will be on my way back or just back from our cabin,

1:30.6

our family's cabin in Colorado, really looking forward to getting out there for almost a

1:36.1

whole week and a half. So we're heading out there here in a couple of days and trying to do all

1:40.8

the last minute things, including recording a podcast for you so that it's

1:44.7

ready when I get back. So haven't read any listener reviews lately, and I wanted to read a couple.

1:51.0

I so appreciate when you leave a listener review because that's what the little algorithm responds to,

1:57.5

right? The more listener reviews there are, and of course, the more positive they are,

2:01.6

the more this podcast gets out in front of other people who need it, and that's what I want, right?

2:06.2

There's, gosh, 12 million widows. Let's reach at least one million of them. That's still my goal.
