Hey gang, it's me, Dr. Steve, so what's going on in Israel?

You may have heard a massive protest over the weekend, but did you hear how they stopped?

We're going to see what's really happening over there, and we're going to find out how the Israeli political left is getting crushed by the growing right wing in more ways than one.

Over the weekend, tens of thousands took to the streets in Tel Aviv to protest against their new nationalist populist government's measures to radically reform their nation's judiciary.

Now for many, this is a cynical move on the part of the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu is currently under investigation for corruption, so critics see that there's nothing more than Netanyahu trying to interfere with the judiciary in order to circumvent the process.

Now because of that, or at least in part, not everyone in BB's administration is on board with these judiciary reforms, his defense minister announced his opposition to the plan, which resulted in BB firing him, and that firing seems to have been the catalyst for these massive demonstrations.

However, what you probably have not heard about is how much support there actually is in Israel for these judicial overholes, and why there's so much support.

In fact, isn't it interesting how we're not hearing about the thousands that are coming out and demonstrating in favor of judicial reform?

We're only hearing about one side, not the other, how democratic of our legacy media.

Interestingly, the protesters' main message was, this is what the last election was all about, precisely these kinds of needed reforms.

So they're chanting things like, don't let them steal the elections from us. A number of conservative youth that seem grab pride flags from the smaller number of anti-judicial reform protesters, and stomped on them in a show of defiance against precisely the kind of secular values that the Israeli judiciary has been pushing, and that's exactly what the left wing media has been whining and complaining about.

Anti-government protesters found themselves fleeing right wing activists who not only attacked them, but attacked them as is really police reportedly looked the other way.

So while we're hearing from the legacy media that the Netanyahu government, the most far right government in Israel's history is on the brink, right?

In point of fact, or even left wing media outlets admitting that all these protests are actually ending up further empowering right wing forces.

For example, agreeing to postpone the vote that was supposed to take place in the kinesa to go ahead with the judicial reforms, Netanyahu agreed to establish a new national guard under the control of their current ultra-national security minister, it to Marben Gavir.

So the right is actually getting more powerful, not less because of all this. So what's going on? What's happening here? Well, that's exactly what we're going to find out in an easy step by step fashion.
